For as long as I can remember, I've harbored a burning desire to use my creative genius to illuminate the beauty in the world around us.

My journey began in the aisles of Winn Dixie in Lafayette, Louisiana, where, as a teenager, I discovered the power of freezing moments in time with a simple disposable camera. I became that person who saw and showcased the beauty of the world through a lens, capturing the seemingly ordinary moments that held extraordinary significance.

Today, I'm Monica Blackshire—a devoted wife of 13 years and a proud mom to a 10 and 6-year-old. While my roots lie in Lafayette, Louisiana, my lens currently focuses on the vibrant stories unfolding in Houston, Texas. A graduate of Southern University and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, I've always been drawn to moments that define our lives.

I have been fortunate enough to have a plethora of opportunities to work on my craft.

During my college years, as a student athletic trainer with a keen eye for photography, I immersed myself in the world of sports, particularly baseball. That early passion has blossomed into a lifelong commitment to documenting love and aiding entrepreneurs in growing their businesses.

After 16 fulfilling years as an award-winning public educator, I've decided to turn my part-time passion into a full-time dream. With over a decade of experience and having photographed over 200 families and professionals, I've become an expert in capturing the essence of family and branding.

Beyond the lens, I hold a deep appreciation for the importance of preserving our stories. Having limited knowledge about my own ancestors and family history fuels my commitment to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to document their love, families, and entrepreneurial journeys.
